UNIVERSITY PARTICIPATES IN THE 9TH ANNUAL FORUM OF EAST AFRICAN HIGHER EDUCATION QUALITY ASSURANCE NETWORK (EAQAN)

The University participated in the 9th Annual Forum of East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN) that was held at Imperial Golf Hotel, in Entebbe Uganda from 6th-10th May 2019. The Director, Quality Enhancement and Assurance, Dr. Pamela Raburu represented the University at the Conference, whose theme was Competence-Based Learning for Achieving Sustainable Development Goals. The Conference was attended by quality assurance stakeholders from the East African Region. Kenya was represented by Kenya Universities Quality Assurance Network (KuQAN). The Forum was consolidated into four major events namely: Conference and Training Workshop, the Annual General Assembly of EAQAN, the High Level Quality Assurance Dialogue and the Interaction between universities and the East African Private Sector delegation

During the Conference, the main focus of discussion was on the following areas; Entrepreneurial, Innovative and Market Driven Programs in Higher Education, Sustainability of Quality Systems and Structures for Quality Education and Monitoring of Higher Education Institution Initiative for Sustainable and Inclusive Development in Society.

Among the topics discussed on quality assurance were; Quality Post-Graduate Supervision and ‘’Graduate Space’’, critical thinking and academic writing in research. The topics are in tandem with the achievements of Sustainable Development Goals and Higher Education Institutions in the region.
