Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology has registered a sterling performance at the 2019 Kisumu Regional ASK Show through research and training. With an array of research work focused on the show theme; “Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade”, JOOUST won the Chairman’s Commendation Trophy as well as taking the runners - up for the best University Stand.

The other categories that the university entered and performed well at the second and third positions included; The Best Organization in Community Service, The Best Stand in Research and Development, The Education and / or Research Stand that best Interprets Current Show Theme, and Best Stand Demonstrating the Application of Environment Quality Standards.

The Center of Excellence in Sustainable use of Insects as Food and Feeds (INSEFOOD) became the epitome of attraction with their Insect Cuisine.  Other exhibits that drew the attention of the public at JOOUST Stand included the Innovation on gas extraction from market and kitchen waste by the School of Biological and Physical Sciences, the Tusafiri Pamoja Application that helps public transport operators and users by the School of Informatics and Innovative Systems among others.
