JOOUST MARKS 7TH GRADUATION CEREMONY

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology  marked its seventh graduation in an auspicious ceremony graced by dignitaries across the country. The graduating class, comprising of over two thousand three hundred and sixty students, jubilantly cheered as the Chancellor Dr. Vimal Shah conferred their degrees.

Starting off the ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Stephen Agong’ lauded the graduands for their endurance through the four years of their studies. “We have endeavored to bring you on a journey of experiences which help you to grow and transform. The whole university celebrates with you. We are proud of your achievements.  But there is much more to do, and today marks a new beginning”

While addressing the graduands, the Chancellor Dr. Vimal Shah said that the University had given the graduands  all the necessary skills they need to be able to perform optimally in the job market. He futher implored them to Use their intellect to create job opportunities and let what they have been taught work for them in providing the necessary skilled manpower necessary to drive the economy.

The Chairman of Council also congratulated the graduands adding that, this was their  achievement; but they should always remember the sacrifices others  made to ensure that they stood there today, urging them to strive to payback by offering a service that forever seeks to make a positive change and put a permanent smile on the faces of the millions of suffering people in the world.

The University Choir led by Dr. Zablon Maua stole the hearts of the audience with an outstanding performance of the University Anthem as well as a special composition to the graduating class. Other notable performances were a spoken word by one of our students Mr. Justus Alila, addressing the state of the nation and the role the graduands played in shaping the narrative for posterity. The University Band also freely danced and sang as they celebrated the graduands.

This being the seventh graduation, JOOUST boasts a  promising number of twenty Doctorate degrees  and an impressive thirty seven Masters degrees conferred from over six Schools. This sets a positive trajectory from the previous graduations held.

The university wishes all the 2019 graduands  all the best as they proceed to serve the society.
