JOOUST SIGNS AN MOU WITH ACARE

Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Africa Center for Aquatic Research and Education (ACARE) for strategic cooperation in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences research, training and outreach on the African Great Lakes.

The MOU will now allow the two institutions of higher learning to establish mutual interest in promoting international collaboration, education, training and research in the interest of the two institutions in promoting cross-cultural exchange among staff and students in both institutions.

This MOU covers significant issues related to research and data, exchange programmes, training and information exchange that may comprise funded, commissioned and joint research, student and staff exchange, postdoctoral training, visiting scientists, postgraduate research support, short courses, joint publications, conferences, workshops and policy briefs.

ACARE is an institution based in the United States of America. It is formed by a group of motivated experts from Africa, Europe and North America to provide an innovative learning experience for young freshwater experts in the African Great Lakes riparian countries that include Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, DR Congo, Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique.
