On 5th to 8th September 2023, The Director Quality Enhancement & Assurance Prof. Pamela Raburu of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science & Technology (JOOUST) attended the 12th East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network Forum. This was organized by the Inter-University Council for East Africa (IUCEA) in conjunction with East African Higher Education Quality Assurance Network (EAQAN) and Burundi National Commission for Higher Education (CNES).
The theme was “Nurturing Emerging Trends in Higher Education Through Quality Assurance”- The main goal of the 12th Annual Regional Quality Assurance Forum was to identify and reflect on the emerging trends in Higher Education and share experiences on how to nurture them through quality assurance systems. The discussions included;
The impact of emerging trends in higher education on quality of education, Strengthen collaborations, networking and capacity building, Conduct high level quality assurance dialogue, good practices and challenges in nurturing emerging trends in higher education, Reflect on the internationalization of higher education and quality assurance of emerging trends in higher education institutions and provide recommendations on how to enhance best practices quality assurance to nurture emerging trends in higher education in order to produce graduates that are transformational.
The forum was attended by more than 200 delegates including Directors of Quality Assurance in Universities in East Africa, DVCs and Vice Chancellors among others.
